March takes us to the beginning of Spring. With Spring comes the first of the feasts of the Lord: Passover. We will be observing Passover this year on April 4th. As we gather to remember that wonderful sacrifice that was made nearly 2000 years ago, and partake of the Lord?s supper, we are reminded of the suffering that Christ endured that we might be saved.

As we wrap up this century, life has seemed to have become increasingly fast-paced. From morning until night, we are distracted by life. We, as Christians, must take this time to stop and take a break and reflect on where we could have been, and what Jesus purchased for us. The amount of hate, fear and worry that surrounds us is incredible. Christ gave His life to take all of that away, and to give us the spirit of love, power and a sound mind.

Every drop of blood was shed for you and me. Every pound of the hammer, driving the nails into His hands and feet was to drive away our sins. The crown of thorns, the bruises, the humiliation, the pain: all to purchase us...to redeem us to the Father.

We sing a song, "He paid a debt, He did not owe. I owed a debt, I could not pay. I needed someone to wash my sins away. And now I sing a brand new song ?Amazing Grace.? My Jesus paid the debt, that I could never pay."

The Bible says that Abraham believed God, and "staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was also able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness." (Rom. 4:20-22) Abraham?s faith was counted to him for righteousness.

Paul goes on to say that this is written "for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences (sins), and was raised again for our justification." (Rom. 4:24-25)

We now have life, joy, hope, peace, love, and comfort because He died for us.

Praise God for His mercy and love. Let us renew our commitment to serve Him, seeing as how Jesus died in our place. We now owe Him a life-debt. As we should have died, but He gave Himself instead, our life is no longer our own, but His.

As the Scriptures declare, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Rom. 12:1)
