The efforts of the homosexuals in America, and those who take pleasure in them, to make their unnatural lifestyle legally part of American society, have reached high levels of success in recent months. The battle rages on, especially in Massachusetts, as I write this article. Granted, illicit and perverse sexual activities are not the basic problem. It is as He said in Ezekiel 16:49,50, "Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters. - They were haughty, and committed abomination before Me."
We have these three major examples which came upon the ancient societies of the world. The Apostle said, "If God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked" (2 Peter 2:4-7).
This segment of the American society is determined to stand in the face of God, and defy Him to constrain their licentious ways; as did our ancient progenitors. God did not spare the angels, nor the world before the flood, nor the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah. The inhabitants of America, Christians included, need to "Take heed lest He also spare not thee." King Solomon said, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
The bold and open push for the official enfranchisement of homosexuals has been raging since their big march in Washington D.C., in 1969. In 2009, God will have given them forty years to repent. I am not sure we have any guarantee that He will wait that long.
So, just where does that leave Christians in America? How many of us will believe Jesus' words, "As it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man" (Luke 17:26); And how many of us will believe the words of Peter, who spoke of those "Which sometime were disobedient ... in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water" (1 Pet. 1:19,20; 2 Pet. 3:5)?
Or will multitudes of us be as the descendants of Seth, who did not believe the preaching of Noah, and perished in the flood? If we do not believe the truth of the matter, we will surely believe the lie. Paul said, "For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth" (2 Thess. 2:8-12).
Are you diligently reading and believing the Word of God? Let us quickly rise and trim our lamps (2 Peter 1:19-21), find the man to whom God has given the revelation of His will for this present time, and save ourselves from this wicked generation.
