Grace and peace be unto you in the name of the Lord Jesus.
As I was reading in Isaiah this month, I was impressed with one particular verse. It made me think of introductions. If one were to announce the presence of God, and introduce Him to a crowd, what would one say? How could one possibly do Him justice?
In Isaiah 58:15, God introduces Himself, saying, "Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy." I was awestruck at the gravity of those words. How awesome is our God. He is the Lord most high, the only true and living God. Jehovah is His name. Hallelujah!
He is so worthy of all of our praise, our attention, and our love. There aren't words enough to describe His greatness, His love, or His grace. The mercy and compassion He has for mankind was such that He sent His Son Jesus to redeem us from the bondage of sin. What can compare to such love? Where other `gods' call on their faithful to perish, our God sent His Son that we might live! Oh, that all men would know the love of God!
Another Summer has passed, and with Fall comes the Time of Harvest. The Lord said that the Harvest is the end of the world. Even as man gathers up the crops he has planted, so also shall God gather together the children of the wicked one "into bundles to be burned." After that, He shall gather His Elect from the four corners of the earth. As a sign to remind us of that great day, when He shall send forth His angels to gather His people, God gave us the Feast of Ingathering. This feast of the Lord, one of three in the Old Testament in which God required all of the men of Israel to come up to Jerusalem to worship, foreshadows the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto Him.
We will celebrate this solemn feast October 16-19. We encourage all to join us during this hallowed time, as we worship our great God and magnify His name. The celebration includes nightly praise & worship services Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30, and inspired messages from a variety of ministers. Friday and Saturday feature Bible studies at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., as we "feast" on His holy word.
It will culminate with a worship service Sunday morning at 10:00. Clear your calendar, and plan to fellowship with us during this great Feast!
