It?s War! God inspired Bro. Eldon McNabb with that phrase, giving him an unction to call us to prepare for the conflict that Satan is unleashing on the Saints of God. It has, therefore, become this month?s theme. We must prepare war.
Many might shy away from such language for fear of being numbered among ?right-wing extremists,? ?fundamentalists,? and ?Christian radicals.? We, however, boldly declare our willingness to contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints.
Some have taken up physical arms to force others to except their beliefs or suffer at their hands. This they have done ?in the name of God,? but will doubtless share the condemnation of the false prophets of Jeremiah?s day, ?Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart? (Jer. 14:14).
1 Cor. 10:4-6 tells us, ?The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.? Paul goes on to say that we should be ready to revenge all disobedience, but clarifies the arena in which that battle is waged, ?Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.? This is where this epic war will be fought and won - in the hearts and minds of men.
Be of good courage saints. The kingdoms of this world shall soon become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever.
And we shall reign with Him, for it is the Lord?s good pleasure to give the kingdom to the nation bringing forth the fruits thereof (Luke 12:32; Matt. 21:43).
