Greetings, once again, dear friends, brothers and sisters, in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The world has gone through drastic changes in recent months, and shows no sign of slowing. The War on Terror, combined with the Mideast conflict and general global unrest should be enough to get the attention of any Bible-believing Christian.
If these things were not enough, the U.N. is continuing its concerted efforts to bring the entire world under one, global government. The latest move to achieve that end was made April 11, 2002 with the passage of the Rome Statute for the International Criminal Court. In my article on this subject, I discuss some of the characteristics of this new tribunal, and how it will affect the world, and Christians in particular.
Things are happening very rapidly now, and troublous times are here. We must be awake – aware of what is going on around us, but we need not fear. God has prepared a place for those who will believe the truth and trust in Him. As the psalmist David said, “But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.” (Psa. 37:39-40)
When we hear the word “Pentecost,” we immediately think of the wonderful manifestation of the Spirit described in the second chapter of Acts. But this Feast of Weeks, also called the Feast of the Firstfruits of Harvest reveals much more than the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Pastor McNabb deals with the deeper meaning of this Feast of the Lord this month in his article “What is Pentecost?” I trust it will enlighten and edify you.
Our observance of Pentecost, the Feast of Firstfruits of Harvest, will be held May 16-19, 2002. The feast will feature a revival-type atmosphere with worship services, Bible studies and a variety of speakers. All are invited to attend, so pack your bags and get in touch with us to make preparation for you to feast together with us on the precious Word of God.
May the Peace of God be with you all.
