Where Have all the Prophets Gone?

By Walter Fleury

Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears. And go, get to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear." (Ezek. 3:10,11)

God has always spoken to prophets. In the past, God spake to men like Moses, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. These men wrote down the words that God spake to them, and this is how we got the Bible. Even though these men had God's spirit come upon them, they were very seldom listened to or obeyed. The majority of people just simply did not want to listen or pay heed to their message. As a result, many people lost their faith, and many others - their lives. But some will say, "If we would have heard those great prophets, we surely would have listened to them and did just as they said."

Do you really think so? If a prophet came to you today and gave a message from the Lord, would you really listen? Perhaps you would reject them because their words did not fit your theology, or, for that matter, the theology of the theologians. Do you realize that is exactly what the prophets of old also faced?

Some will even go as far as to say that we no longer need any more prophets because the Bible itself is already complete. Well, I'm not here to tell you that we are still continuing to write the Bible. However, what I am saying is that "it shall come to pass in the last days that God will pour out His spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." (Acts 2:17) No, we are not adding to the Bible, but there is One, who does write in His book of remembrance, and He will gather first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them, and then also gather the wheat into His barn.

The Lord is gathering to Himself a people, and this people SHALL BE IN TRUTH. If you are one of these, whom God has predestined to be a part of this People of Truth, I encourage you to contact us either by mail, phone or via the Internet. Our number, address and website address are found on page 2 of this monthly magazine.

The Lord is still speaking to prophets, and their message continues to echo into eternity. If this message has touched your soul, you have an obligation and a responsibility to do something about it. Get involved! Thank you and may God bless you.
