Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Each month, as I prepare The Bible Guys, I feel a burning desire to celebrate the grace, mercy and love of our God. The only begotten Son of God was sent to earth by His Father, to reveal the Father's love unto us. Then, He sent His faithful followers out to share the message of His work of redemption among the sons of men. He sent also the Holy Spirit, to convince men of their sins, and to draw them to Himself.

Oh, what amazing love! We, who have nothing to offer, are brought to the Lord's table by His grace alone. There is nothing we can do to earn or deserve His blessings. He alone has provided all things for our benefit.

And, what's more, how can I express the amazement when I see the hand of God - the Creator of the universe - in a life so meager as mine? He has put gladness in my heart, more than in the most glorious summer day. He has guided my steps, that I should not slip. He has given me a shield of salvation and has raised me up with His right hand.

He has been my help, and has healed me. He has turned my morning into dancing. He has been a shelter for me in the time of trouble. He has taught me from my youth to fear Him.

In all my goings, He has never left me, nor forsaken me, as He promised. How can we ever live a life worthy of all that He has done for us? Truly, we cannot, nor is it required of us. But Paul admonished us, in Romans 12, to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. (It is only reasonable that we yield our lives entirely to our Savior.) And we should not be conformed to this world: but transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It is to this end that we have been drawn to the Father by His Spirit, to attain unto holiness, and walk according to the perfect will of God. Paul said, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Then, he exhorted us, saying, "Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded" (Phil. 3:14,15).

Let us not waste our days, but let us redeem the time we have, purposing in our hearts to live our lives to the glory of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvelous light, for to this end were we born.

God bless you. Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
