The Bible Says...
Reviewing some common teachings

Many Christians say, "You have to forgive everyone, whether or not they apologize."

But haven't you read in the Scriptures: "For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous unto all them that call unto thee" (Psa. 86:5). And again: "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother tresspass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him" (Luke 17:3,4).

But what do the Scriptures say? "Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?" (Job 4:17).

Many Christians say, "Speaking in tongues was only for the days of the Apostles."

But haven't you read in the Scriptures how that God gave unto the Gentiles the like gift as He did unto the disciples at Pentecost? (Acts chaps. 10 and 11). And again: "For the promise is unto you, and unto your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord your God shall call" (Acts 2:39).
