The Bible Says…
    By Bro. C. Eldon McNabb

The Bible says that God’s people are saved by doctrine. Read 1 Tim. 4:16, "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

The Bible also says, in Mark 12:35-40, "Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David? For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

"And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation."

In view of the preceding paragraph, do you suppose that we should beware of the modern scribes who have boldly changed the word of God in the proliferation of new versions of the Bible, particularly in the last 48 years? Even so much that they have brought upon themselves the damnation of which God warned us in Rev. 22:19.

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
